Emma Bulley – Director

  • Emma Graduated with Dual Master’s Degree in MBA, Oil and Gas Management with Merits from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK.
  • She also obtained her Qualifying Law Certificate (QLC) from Ghana Law School.
  • She Pursued her Legal Practice Course (LPC) from Collage of Law, London- UK.
  • She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree (LLB Hons) from the University of Hertfordshire UK.

Emma is a Barrister and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. She is a highly experienced person in diversified field of works, spanning from providing legal and advisory services, to compliance to many international companies; such as Camac Energy, a global energy company based in the United States of America in the acquisition of an Oil block in the Deep Tano Basin in Ghana; Rollider Limited, an Israeli Construction Company in the construction of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) headquarters in Accra, Ghana. 

Emma worked with Cuthbert’s and Co Solicitors, a law firm based in Leytonstone, London where she represented Clients at preliminary hearings at the Home Office on immigration issues, conveyance, commercial and criminal cases.

She also worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland, Islington/Angel Branch. At RBS, she was in operations in charge of compliance. Emma did a consultancy project for Accenture PLC, a global consultancy firm; on how to “carry out opportunities for reducing cost for capital projects in offshore wind”. She researched into the appetite and business case for the adoption of shared service in the development and consenting phases of offshore wind farms projects. She was the integral legal brain behind the success of LCB Worldwide in Ghana; by providing excellent legal and consulting services to ensure LCB Worldwide Ghana’s project was successfully executed in Ghana. LCB worldwide has its parent company in Turkey and its subsidiary in Ghana. She successfully negotiated on behalf of the Client LCB with the Government of Ghana and provided all the legal services required to LCB Worldwide on their project to disinfect the entry and exit points of all the ports of Ghana.

She provided advisory and legal services to Hatch on a railway project in Ghana. (Hatch is a global multidisciplinary management, engineering and development consultancy company with over 9,000 employees and 70 offices worldwide.)

Emma served as a Pupil, became an associate, she rose to become a Junior Partner at Kulendi @ Law. As a team lead, she worked on various complex legal issues bringing solutions to the clients. Emma has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation as well as Corporate Law. Emma Served on several Boards to discharge her services and knowledge in her profession. She served on BanK of Ghana Board as a Non-Executive Director, she served on the Board of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as a Non-Executive Director. She was the Vice Chairman on the advisory Board to National Communication Authority of Ghana (NCA).

She is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Universal Merchant Bank.

Michael Amoako-Atta – General Manager

  • Michael is an experienced management professional with extensive knowledge in finance, marketing, and risk management. With over 15 years of experience in risk management, deploying transformational strategies that led to maximum value and potential. Michael has shown extreme versatility with a proven track record in managing the full spectrum of components, for example, physical sales negotiations, business development, risk, and compliance. As a result-oriented professional, he helped to foster positive team dynamism in various capacities throughout his career.

    Michael is a vastly analytical and disciplined manager who uses experience to identify and capitalize on market opportunities. He is an entrepreneur with a good track record in business development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Sociology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Ghana, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester in the UK. He has a vast array of experience in various industries such as the telecommunication industry, the insurance industry, banking, and finance industry. He worked with the National Board for Small-Scale Industries from 1998 to 1999, then with Ghana Telecom (now Vodafone) from the year 2000 to 2002. He then joined American Life Insurance (AIG Group UK) and later worked as a Corporate Credit Risk Manager with the Agricultural Development Bank from 2009 to 2018 as operations and Logistics Manager at HS Energy Resources Ltd from 2018 before this role.

    He brings a wealth of international and industry-wide experience which will be leveraged in driving the growth of our overall business in Ghana, with a focus on making Verve Energy the preferred choice.

Joyce Gyimah Afriyie – Finance and Administrative Manager

  • Joyce is a highly qualified and organized finance professional holding the title of Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Cape Coast, and a Final Level Student at the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

    As the Financial Director and Office Administrator for Verve Energy Resources Limited, Joyce demonstrates commitment, professionalism, and a keen ability to achieve results. With a solid understanding of accounting principles, she identifies deficiencies and potential opportunities for business success. Joyce collaborates with the Ghana Revenue Authority, conducting annual audits to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely tax filing, and compliance, avoiding penalties and benefiting the company.

    In her role, Joyce deducts, files, and pays withholding taxes, VAT, and salaries promptly. She meticulously manages financial records, receipts, and invoices, ensuring proper filing and safekeeping of documents. Serving as the Finance Manager, she reconciles daily, monthly, and yearly transactions, ensuring accuracy in bank balances and journal entries. Joyce conducts monthly stock counts and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. She also handles annual returns with the Registrar General and manages daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow reports.

    With over 4 years of experience at Immeri Ghana Limited as an Accountant and 2 years at Alpha Capital Savings and Loans as a Customer Representative, Joyce brings a wealth of expertise to her roles. Her multifaceted skills encompass financial management, taxation, and administrative responsibilities, making her a valuable asset to the organization.

Maxwell Gyenin – Finance Manager

  • Maxwell is a financial consultant specializing in business growth strategies, risk management, contracting, and procurement operations for organizations. He has a consistent track record in business consulting and is an accomplished business leader. He also specializes in Credit Management and General Auditing.

    Maxwell holds an MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (Accounting and Taxation option) and a Bachelor of Arts (Geography and Sociology) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Frempong Adom Acquah – SHEQ/Operations Manager

  • He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering obtained from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 2000. He is a Corporate Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers. He worked with Mack Bisco Trading Company, then joined Architectural and Engineering Services Limited as a Mechanical Services Consultant Engineer. He has worked on various projects in Ghana.

    He is responsible for the design, specification, and extraction of bills of quantities for tender documents, evaluation of tender bid documents, negotiation and award of contracts, and supervision of Mechanical services installations. It includes HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Specification and selection of Lift. As a Valuer, he undertakes Valuation on Plant and Machinery.
